Callee's Homemade Granola Recipe (V&GF)

Callee's Homemade Granola Recipe (V&GF)

For some reason, I was never much of a granola girl - that is until a Swiss friend introduced me to muesli while we were traveling across France together!

When I returned to the states, I looked for muesli/granola at the grocery store but was blown away by the price and unnecessary ingredients, so I started making my own granola.

This recipe is definitely a granola, not muesli, due to the high oil & sugar content! If my Swiss friend could try it, he'd certainly make a comment about Americans making everything too sweet 😅

My Homemade Granola Recipe

4 cups of rolled or old-fashioned oats

1 cup of chopped nuts (of your choice)

1/2 cup of honey or maple syrup

1/2 cup of high-quality vegetable oil

1 scoop of protein powder (optional)

1 tbsp of cinnamon

1 tsp of salt

optional: dried fruit, chocolate chips, seeds, etc

Mix oil and honey/maple syrup with spices & protein powder before adding in oats, nuts, and optional add-ins. Mix together thoroughly. Spread in thin layer across baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes at 300 degrees F, stirring halfway through.

After 30 minutes, the oats will still look wet and unfinished, but remove from oven and let sit for an hour or so. It will finish turning into granola outside of the oven! Eat on its own or with milk or yogurt. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks.

Hope you enjoy!

xx, Callee
